Statement of Need

Overactive bladderis a debilitating syndrome that negatively impacts quality of life and affects over 33 million Americans. Clinicians and patients often have different treatment expectations, which may not be clearly communicated to one another. It is important for the patient and clinicians to discuss treatment plans and have shared expectations in terms of treatment goals.

While clinicians attempt to measure outcomes objectively by using measurement instruments such as urodynamic studies or voiding diaries, a patient's perception of treatment success may be more subjective.

This Urology Circle activity will review the latest study designs and clinical trial data using reliable, valid outcomes measurement instruments and how they demonstrate patient satisfaction and patient perceived outcomes.

This activity will consist of didactic lectures and panel discussions supported by slides posted on the web.
